Our Definition of "Wholesale Beauty Supplies"
In "wholesale beauty supplies", the word "beauty supplies" indicate
supplies of beauty related products, also known as cosmetics, that are made
of substances used to enhance or protect
the appearance or odor of the human body. Beauty supplies, or cosmetics,
include skin-care creams, lotions, powders, perfumes, lipsticks, fingernail
polishes, eye and facial makeup, permanent waves, hair colors, deodorants,
baby products, bath oils, bubble baths, and many other types of beauty
supplies. The U.S. FDA defines beauty supplies, or cosmetics, as:
"intended to be applied to the human body for cleansing, beautifying,
promoting attractiveness, or altering the appearance without affecting the
body's structure or functions." This broad definition includes, as well, any
material intended for use as a component of a beauty supply. The FDA
specifically excludes soap from this category.
In "wholesale beauty supplies", the word "wholesale" is the act that
consists of the sale of beauty supplies to retailers, commercial,
institutional, or other professional business users or to other wholesale
beauty supply wholesalers and related subordinated services.
The word "wholesale", in "wholesale beauty supplies", is also the resale of
beauty supplies to retailers, to commercial, institutional or professional
users, or to other beauty supply wholesalers, or involves acting as an agent
or broker in buying beauty supplies for, or selling beauty supplies, to such
persons or companies. Companies or persons that engage in the wholesale of
beauty supplies frequently physically assemble and sort beauty products in
large lots, break bulk, repack and redistribute in smaller lots.
