The word "wholesale", in "wholesale beauty products", is the resale of
beauty products to retailers, to commercial, institutional or professional
users, or to other beauty product wholesalers, or involves acting as an
agent or broker in buying beauty products for, or selling beauty products,
to such persons or companies. Companies or persons that engage in the
wholesale of beauty products frequently physically assemble and sort beauty
products in large lots, break bulk, repack and redistribute in smaller lots.
The word "beauty products", in "wholesale beauty products", are often
called cosmetics, in which they are substances used to enhance or protect
the appearance or odor of the human body. Beauty products, or cosmetics,
include skin-care creams, lotions, powders, perfumes, lipsticks, fingernail
polishes, eye and facial makeup, permanent waves, hair colors, deodorants,
baby products, bath oils, bubble baths, and many other types of beauty
products. The U.S. FDA defines beauty products, or cosmetics, as:
"intended to be applied to the human body for cleansing, beautifying,
promoting attractiveness, or altering the appearance without affecting the
body's structure or functions." This broad definition includes, as well, any
material intended for use as a component of a beauty product. The FDA
specifically excludes soap from this category
