"I lived in Beijing, the capital of China for a long time (actually, I came to the US just five months ago) and speak standard mandarin. I also love Chinese culture and history very much and read a lot of books in that aspect. If I become a Chinese teacher, I will introduce our culture to my students besides teaching them words, characters, Pinyin System, etc. I have plenty of nice stories of Chinese culture to share with them. I also plan to teach my students how to write Chinese characters, because I think calligraphy is such an important component of our culture and so special comparing with alphabet languages. I am very proud of our language, our culture, and our history. I hope to share all these things with my American friends.

When I lived in Beijing, I worked as a trainer for half a year and learned how to teach. I have taken online college classes and courses and keep up my education. I'd love to help tutor people enrolled in college classes online or on campus. I am very patient and affable, always smiling, and I know how to comfort a new student, how to encourage him and lead him into a totally new field for him

As a college student, I volunteered to teach illiteracies in rural China. At that time, I found I loved to be a teacher. It’s difficult to teach someone who never tried to read or write before, but it’s also so happy to share your knowledge with those who didn’t have opportunity to learn. I taught them for two summers, and they could read and write some relatively simple things when I left. When I lived in Beijing, I worked as a trainer for half a year and learned how to teach. I am very patient and affable, always smiling, and I know how to comfort a new student, how to encourage him and lead him into a totally new field for him. I know that curiosity and interest are most important in learning, so I always do everything I can to intrigue students’ interest and I will never push them because that may injure their interest in studying.

My English is enough for teaching. When I worked in Beijing, I have many colleagues who are Canadians. We work together and the working language in our office is English. Since they had to work in China for one or two years, they wanted to learn Chinese and I volunteered to teach them, and we made a big progress. Even now, I am teaching my American friends Chinese and they like it.

I also look forward to make friends while helping others to learn Chinese, and I believe I can. "
